Volunteer Weekend

REO Rafting Adventure Resort offers a weekend adventure program for volunteers that includes work experience and an exciting rafting adventure. The Weekend Warrior is a great way to make new friends and experience the thrills and spills of an adventure resort.

In exchange for the volunteer work, you will receive a free rafting adventure, camping and 5-6 delicious meals you help prepare!

As a kitchen volunteer you are to check in with our kitchen manager on Friday evening to receive full details of your weekend duties and general information about the resort. Volunteers will work beginning with Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch, including clean up in exchange for a rafting adventure on Sunday afternoon.

The main duties for our volunteers are to assist REO with meal preparation at the resort. These duties may include the following:
  • Cutting vegetables, fruit and cheese
  • Arranging fruit, vegetable and meat trays
  • Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner (buffet-style)
  • Washing dishes
  • Mopping and sweeping floors
  • General cleaning of dining deck and kitchen area before and after meals
  • Prep work for river snacks
  • Additional duties delegated by our kitchen manager
To qualify for this experience must have:
  • Strong work ethic
  • Personal and work references
  • Grade 12 education or higher
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Pleasant personality and appearance
  • Drug-free lifestyle
  • 19 years and older
  • Photo ID (Drivers license preferred)
  • Proof of medical coverage

Located 3 hours Northeast of Vancouver, REO overlooks the jade-green Nahatlatch River, one of Canada's most beautiful rivers. The Resort features stunning mountain, forest and river views, and offers amenities such as cabin tents, chef-prepared meals, large hot-tub and sauna, hot showers, private beach, and nightly campfires. Enjoy the beautiful summer climate at REO that includes more blue-sky days than anywhere else in BC.

What to bring: Each volunteer must provide a tent, sleeping bag, clothing and items of a personal nature. Upgrades to cabin tent lodging are available.

Exclusions: REO does not serve alcoholic beverages but volunteers are welcome to bring their own provided that its consumption does not adversely affect their work experience or the enjoyment of our guests (min age of weekend volunteers is 19).
